A name
that speaks for the brand.

We create names for businesses, products, and services: with an idea, character, and room to grow.

We study the context, search for the right sound, and explain the logic behind each final direction.

What's included in name development

A name grows from understanding the business. Each step moves from open exploration to a decision the team can explain and use in practice.

Naming stage: Research
01

Research

We dive into the product, category, audience, and competitive field. We find themes, words, and images the brand can work with.

Naming stage: Name platform
02

Name platform

We define brand character and criteria for the future name: what it should convey, who it should speak to, and how it will be used.

Naming stage: Idea generation
03

Idea generation

We explore names through semantic associations, metaphors, word-building, and unexpected connections. We consider several directions.

Naming stage: Short list
04

Short list

We select ideas by meaning, expressiveness, ease of pronunciation, and fit with positioning. Similar and weak options are filtered out.

Naming stage: Language check
05

Language check

We look at how the name reads, writes, and sounds in the required languages. We check for unwanted associations and obvious confusion risks.

Naming stage: Digital context
06

Digital context

We check available spellings for domain and social platforms and assess how easy the name is to find online.

Naming stage: Concept presentation
07

Concept presentation

We explain the logic behind each final direction: its idea, sound, character, and examples of use in communication.

Naming stage: Launch recommendations
08

Launch recommendations

We prepare spelling, pronunciation, and usage rules so the team can apply the name consistently across touchpoints.

When a business needs naming

01

New business

You need a name that will anchor positioning, identity, and first communication.

02

New product

You are launching a separate line or service and want it to have its own character within the brand.

03

Entering a new market

The current name is hard to read or carries unwanted associations for the new audience.

04

Renaming

The business has changed, but the old name no longer explains what you do or where you are headed.

The name sets the tone.
The brand continues.

A strong word does not have to explain everything at once. Its power is in a character you can develop consistently in design, copy, product, and customer experience.

KAVLORA

Thank you to the ZOND team for the branding, website, and content work on Kavlora. For us this project was about presenting the brand as a whole — how it looks, what it says, and how it introduces itself online. That meant working not only on individual visual elements but on the substance of communication. We appreciate the team’s contribution and their attention to Kavlora’s character.

Thank you, ZOND, for the full brand build: positioning, logo, brand book, character, and SMM. For a delivery service you need both a recognisable visual identity and a clear voice on social media. The brand character made communication livelier and more distinctive. We appreciate the consistent approach across all these layers.

Digital Residence

Thank you to the ZOND team for working with us on the full brand book, graphic design, and presentation for Digital Residence. It was important that the brand look consistent — from core identity rules to everyday communication materials — so we treated these tasks as one system, not separate design deliverables. We answer your questions

How much does name development cost?

Cost depends on scope: a single product name, a new brand, or a naming system for several directions requires different levels of research and selection. After a short introduction we define the scope and prepare an estimate.

How long does naming take?

Timeline depends on the number of languages, markets, and how complex approval is. Work runs in sequence: brief, research, generation, selection, checks, and presentation.

How many name options will we receive?

We do not measure the result by a count of random words. The presentation includes developed directions with explanation and recommendation. We fix the number of final options in the proposal before work begins.

Do you check names for conflicts?

We run a preliminary search for obvious conflicts and review spelling in search and digital channels. Whether a trademark can be registered legally is confirmed by a specialist after a separate check.

Can we order a name without a logo or identity?

Yes. Naming can be a standalone project. If you need a full system, the name can be developed together with strategy, slogan, identity, or website.

Do you work with multiple languages and markets?

Yes. At the start we define key languages and countries; during selection we account for reading, pronunciation, and possible associations in those contexts. Specialized language or legal experts are brought in when needed.

Can you rename an existing brand?

Yes. For renaming we first clarify which associations from the old name are worth keeping and which hold the business back. Then we search for a new direction and plan how to explain the change to the audience.

A name works when there is thought behind it.

What is naming and why does the name matter?

Naming is creating a name for a company, product, service, or product line. A strong name helps people remember the brand, sets the tone of communication, and shapes first impressions. But a name does not work on its own: it must support positioning and match the real product.

We look at the word in context: how it is spoken, how it appears on packaging and screen, and whether it leaves room to grow the range. That way the name becomes part of a system, not a random catchy phrase.

How do you know a name fits the business?

Start with the task. One brand needs a direct, clear name; another needs an image or unexpected association. A strong option matches the company's character, fits the category, and stands apart from competitors.

We evaluate meaning, sound, spelling, and usability. The name should be tested on real media: a website headline, signage, presentation, and search. If it works equally well in those situations, it is easier to build on.

What does brand name development include?

Work begins with research into the business and audience. We define search territories, generate ideas, select the strongest, and check them against language and practical constraints. Each final direction comes with rationale.

A preliminary check of digital use and obvious conflicts helps narrow the choice but does not replace legal trademark review. That step is needed before registration and launch.

How does naming connect with branding?

The name influences brand tone, visual idea, tagline, and how the product is presented. When positioning is not yet defined, it is worth articulating the core brand idea before searching for a name.

After the name is chosen, it can extend into logo, identity, packaging, website, and communication. In that sequence each decision continues the previous one and the brand feels cohesive.
